Power restored across affected Transbaikal municipalities as Chita reconnection continues
A failure of emergency control equipment at a main substation disrupted electricity supplies in Russia’s Transbaikal region on October 20. The regional utilities ministry said operators had been instructed to reconnect consumers.
The ministry said energy facilities were operating normally and no technical damage had been recorded, according to Interfax. Regional officials held an urgent meeting with energy operators.
In a subsequent update, the regional emergencies ministry said power had been restored in all affected municipalities except Chita. Consumers in the regional capital were being reconnected in stages.
