Rudenko says Moscow would welcome Seoul’s steps to normalise ties
Moscow would welcome practical steps by South Korea to normalise relations, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said on October 20.
The diplomat said Russia had noted South Korean statements about restoring ties. He said Seoul nevertheless linked full normalisation to a change in the geopolitical situation and an end to the conflict in Ukraine.
Rudenko said Russia did not make relations with other countries dependent on developments in Ukraine. He attributed the deterioration in ties with South Korea to its participation in sanctions against Russia.
