Russia’s Defence Ministry claims advances inside Dobropillia

Russia’s Defence Ministry said on October 10 that its troops had advanced in the central and northwestern parts of Dobropillia, in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
According to the ministry, assault groups from the 51st Army, part of the Centre grouping, made the gains. It said marines were operating in the western part of the city and continuing combat at the Dobropolska mine.
The ministry’s daily account also claimed that Russian forces had taken control of 82 buildings, including four industrial structures, and thwarted two attempts to relieve Ukrainian troops described as surrounded. These claims describe the Russian military’s assessment of the fighting. Territorial gains and the reported outcome of the operations have not been independently verified.
