Russia's defence ministry reports 725 drones shot down over 24 hours

Russia's defence ministry said on October 10 that air defences had intercepted 725 Ukrainian drones and two HIMARS rockets over 24 hours. The figures appeared in the ministry's bulletin.
Interfax also reported the Russian military's statement. The agency specified that the 725 aircraft cited were fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
The ministry separately listed two rockets from the HIMARS system. It included them in the same daily account of air defence activity.
The 725 figure is the ministry's stated daily total. It is separate from the earlier report of 560 drones over Russian regions during the overnight period from 8pm to 8am. The figures should not be added together, since their reporting periods may overlap.
