Russia’s Defence Ministry says it struck cargo ship southwest of Odesa

Russia’s Defence Ministry said drones struck a dry cargo vessel near the port of Odesa during the day. The ministry alleged that the ship was carrying military and dual-use cargo.

In its October 18 statement, the ministry placed the strike 50 km southwest of the port and said the vessel was under way at sea.

It described the incident as a continuation of drone strikes on ships that it said were being used to deliver military cargo to Ukraine.
