Russian ministry reports search for unexploded ordnance in Kostiantynivka

Russia's Defence Ministry said on October 9 that Russian units were inspecting Kostiantynivka for unexploded ordnance and signs of mining. It released footage it said had been filmed by troops in the city.
The statement named the 84th Motor Rifle Division and the 72nd Separate Motor Rifle Brigade of the Southern grouping. According to the ministry, troops were examining industrial buildings, courtyards and roads in assigned sectors.
The ministry said particular attention was being paid to the metallurgical plant. Other locations included Yubileyny Park, the area around the Joseph Stalin tank monument and Oleksy Tykhoho Avenue near a church and railway station.
It said reconnaissance drones were monitoring troop movements around the clock and relaying information on conditions. It also warned of possible remote mining by heavy Ukrainian drones. These accounts and its claim of control over the city come from the Russian side and are not independently confirmed in the cited reports.
