Russian watchdog chief expects no diesel supply problems after export curbs eased

Partially easing Russia’s diesel export ban will not cause domestic supply problems or affect prices, Federal Antimonopoly Service chief Maxim Shaskolsky said. He said the country had enough diesel.

Shaskolsky made the comments to journalists in Sochi in response to questions about the consequences of changes to export restrictions.

The ban had originally been due to last through October 31 for producers and through January 31, 2027, for companies that do not produce fuel themselves. The government partially eased the restrictions in October.

The easing followed an October 9 agreement between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump on supplying Russian diesel to the global market.
