Saudi-led coalition pledges response to Riyadh airport attack

The Saudi-led coalition blamed the Houthis for the October 10 airport attack and pledged retaliation. Spokesman Turki al-Maliki described the strike as a war crime.

The coalition said the attack hit a passenger hall at King Khalid International Airport and killed or injured travellers and airport employees. RIA Novosti carried those statements, while Gulf News and Arab News also reported the promise of a decisive response.

Saudi authorities had previously announced 12 deaths and 309 injuries. The coalition's statement signals its intention to respond, but the cited reports do not specify targets, timing or the scale of any action. The description of the strike as a war crime is the coalition's assessment.
