Sosva unveils new school building and opens fire station

A new building for School No. 4 has been unveiled in Sosva, in Russia's Sverdlovsk region, alongside a fire station serving nine settlements. Governor Denis Pasler and regional legislature speaker Dmitry Zhukov visited the facilities.
The regional legislature's press office said the three-storey school building took two years to construct and received more than a billion roubles from the regional budget. Its predecessor was more than a century old.
The school has classrooms, laboratories, a dining hall and an assembly hall. Its grounds include a football pitch, a shared basketball and volleyball court, and areas for games and outdoor exercise. A four-lane running track is accompanied by a long-jump facility.
The Sverdlovsk region's information portal said the building has capacity for 300 pupils. Classes there will begin after the autumn break.
The fire station for fire service unit No. 6 also took two years to build with regional funding. Its two-storey building provides space for emergency personnel, vehicle maintenance, training and rest.
The ground floor houses dispatch and equipment rooms, a classroom and facilities for the smoke protection service. Administrative and staff amenities are upstairs, including rooms for psychological relaxation and meals.
