New school for 1,200 pupils opens in Moscow's Solntsevo district

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has announced the opening of a school for 1,200 pupils at 8A Yuliana Semyonova Street in Solntsevo.

The mayor reported the opening on October 11. The school joins a developing educational cluster in the district, where another school and two kindergartens are already operating nearby.

Alongside classrooms, the building has dedicated spaces for chess and watercolour painting. Pupils will also have access to a choreography hall, a media library and a robotics classroom.

The grounds have been landscaped and planted with greenery. Pedestrian paths connect areas set aside for quiet recreation, active games and events.

Another educational complex is being built nearby, with places for 500 school pupils and 250 preschool children. It is a separate project that will add to the district's existing educational facilities.
