Third person detained over Starlink station fire in Poland

A third detention in Germany over a September fire at a Starlink station in Poland was reported on Oct. 13. A German Federal Criminal Police spokesperson confirmed to Reuters that the agency coordinated information exchanges linked to three arrests.
Polish broadcaster RMF FM reported a detention in Berlin and suggested the person had helped transport the previously detained suspects. Polish prosecutors were still assessing the person’s specific role. Possible logistical assistance remains an allegation rather than a judicial finding.
Polish authorities said the previous day that two Turkish citizens had been detained in Germany on suspicion of involvement in the fire.
The blaze damaged the station’s power system and backup generator. Polish authorities regard it as suspected sabotage aimed at disrupting internet connections, including services for Ukraine.
According to RMF FM, prosecutors must assess the third detainee’s involvement and whether grounds exist to seek extradition. Reuters said Polish prosecutors had no immediate comment on that issue.
