Yandex restores Expert mode and core Station functions

Yandex has restored most functions of its Alice AI chat, Station smart speakers and YaOS televisions, the company said on October 14.

Expert mode for complex tasks, text and image generation, file processing and the Studio section are available again on the Alice AI website and mobile app. Studio tools include animating photographs and combining images.

Station speakers, TV Stations and YaOS televisions have regained their morning show, alarms, reminders, timers, weather forecasts and answers to questions.

Media playback, search and the app store are also working again on Alice-enabled televisions and when Station devices are connected through HDMI, the company's press service said.

Yandex previously reported disruptions after damage to its data centres. Service restoration began on October 11, and on October 13 the company separately announced the return of most smart-home functions.
