Kyiv returns to scheduled outages after emergency power cuts

Kyiv returned to scheduled power outages on October 9 after emergency restrictions were lifted, DTEK said. Earlier that morning, emergency cuts affected the capital's right bank and parts of the surrounding region.
DTEK said the morning restrictions were ordered by Ukrenergo. In the Kyiv region, they affected Bucha and Vyshhorod. Ordinary outage schedules did not apply during the emergency restrictions, so residents could not use them to determine when power would return.
Around noon, the company announced Kyiv's return to scheduled outages, as reported by Golos.ua and Antikor. Lifting the emergency regime meant restoring the outage timetable rather than uninterrupted electricity throughout the city.
Transport was also disrupted in the morning. Kyivpastrans reported that some public transport services temporarily stopped in three districts. Media reports said metro trains on the green line stopped running toward the right bank.
Ukrenergo attributed emergency restrictions to difficult conditions in the power system after shelling. Energy workers said they were working to restore stable supplies.
