More than 5,000 young large families receive Moscow region birth payment

More than 5,000 young families with three or more children in Moscow region have received a payment for the birth of a third or subsequent child since the scheme began in 2025, the regional Social Development Ministry reported on October 16.

Minister Andrei Kiryukhin said total payments had surpassed 1.5 billion roubles. In 2026, 2,300 families received 697 million roubles.

The measure is intended for young parents aged up to 35 inclusive. The ministry said family income is not taken into account and at least one parent must have permanent registration in Moscow region.

Applications are submitted through the regional public-services portal within six months of the child's birth. According to the ministry, decisions are made within ten working days and funds are transferred within a month.
