Moscow region plans drone training centres in 11 municipalities

Drone piloting training centres are planned in 11 municipalities in the Moscow region, the regional sports ministry said. Drone racing will join the School League's 2026/2027 season.

The centres are planned for Balashikha, Podolsk, Khimki, Serpukhov, Korolyov, Dmitrov, Ramenskoye, Istra, Kolomna, Lyubertsy and Chekhov, Interfax reported.

League participants can also join the nationwide Na Vysote project. Organisers expect it to bring together about 240 thousand people aged over 10.

The amateur track uses virtual drones. The professional track includes simulator racing and real flights.

Regional online competitions are scheduled from November to January, followed by in-person interregional rounds from January to June. The final will take place in the Moscow region in July 2027.
