Nearly 20 drones neutralized overnight in Russia’s Rostov Region, governor says

Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar said an air attack was repelled across eight districts. He said nearly 20 drones were destroyed or suppressed and no casualties or damage were reported.

Yuri Slyusar, the region’s governor, said nearly 20 drones had been destroyed or suppressed overnight in the Rostov Region. He said an air attack was repelled across eight districts.

In a post on his Max channel, Slyusar listed the Kamensky, Kasharsky, Myasnikovsky, Millerovsky, Verkhnedonsky, Tarasovsky, Chertkovsky and Sholokhovsky districts. He did not specify the exact locations where the drones were found.

Slyusar added that no reports of casualties or damage had been received at the time of his post. Interfax independently reported the governor’s estimate of nearly 20 neutralized drones and eight affected districts.

The statement concerned the night of October 8–9. It did not include information about the types of drones or the circumstances in which they were detected.
