SKA-Neftyanik beats Dynamo Moscow to win eighth Russian Bandy Cup
SKA-Neftyanik defeated Dynamo Moscow 7-5 in the Russian Bandy Cup final in Khabarovsk on October 11.
The hosts led 3-1 at halftime. Each side scored four goals after the break, leaving the Khabarovsk club with a two-goal winning margin.
Vladimir Kalanchin, Tuomas Maatta and Yegor Akhmanayev each scored twice for SKA-Neftyanik. Semyon Chupin supplied the team's other goal in the 81st minute.
Mikhail Sergeyev scored twice for Dynamo. Roman Darkovsky, Stepan Zykov and Marat Sharipov contributed one goal apiece. The visitors matched the hosts' second-half scoring but could not erase the deficit established before the interval.
The victory was SKA-Neftyanik's eighth Russian Cup title. The club also won the Soviet Cup in 1988. Dynamo remains the most successful club in the history of the national cup, with 23 trophies, including 13 Soviet Cups.
