Two killed and eight injured in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur road collision

Two people died and eight were injured when a Mazda collided with a Nissan Elgrand in Nikolayevsk-on-Amur, regional traffic police reported on October 10.
According to the preliminary police account, the Mazda driver was travelling on a secondary road and failed to give way to the Nissan. The collision occurred near house number twelve on Gogol Street, with the Nissan travelling along Sovetskaya Street. The Mazda driver and his female passenger died at the scene.
The injured people were all travelling in the Nissan. TASS, citing traffic police, reported that a boy born in 2020 was among them. The municipal prosecutor's office opened a review of compliance with road-safety legislation and is monitoring the authorities' investigation, regional outlet DVNovosti reported. The police account of the cause remains preliminary.
