Russia's VetIS veterinary system switches to emergency mode after power outage
A power outage in Vladimir Region disrupted Russia's state veterinary information system, VetIS. Specialists are working to restore access to its infrastructure.
RIA Novosti reported the service's notice on October 11. It said infrastructure supporting the VetIS data centre had become unavailable and that specialists were taking steps to restore normal operation of the system and its components.
Interfax, citing a notification from agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, said emergency mode began at 6 a.m. Moscow time. The measures also cover Saturn, the information system used to trace pesticides and agrochemicals.
Vladimir Region Governor Alexander Avdeyev previously reported that two substations had lost power after a drone attack. He subsequently said 80% of the locally interrupted electricity supply in Vladimir had been restored. That figure concerns electricity supply and does not establish that the veterinary system had recovered.
The veterinary administration in Zaporizhzhia Region separately reported that the Mercury component was in emergency mode. It reminded users that veterinary accompanying documents could be issued on paper during the disruption.
